The catamaran is slower and more social, with lunch served on board. The speedboat is quicker, so you get more time on the islands.

Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
No. Snorkelling is optional on every trip and you can stay on the boat or the beach.
Is snorkelling gear provided?
On catamaran and speedboat trips snorkelling gear is not provided — bring your own mask and fins if you want to snorkel. Gear is included on the glass-bottom turtle and dolphin habitat trips and on Turtle Habitat Snorkelling Experience, Trou aux Biches. Each trip page lists what is included.
Where do the boats leave from?
Île aux Cerfs trips leave from Trou d’Eau Douce, northern islands trips from Grand Baie, the west catamaran from Rivière Noire and private boats from Mahébourg waterfront. The exact point is on each trip page.
What is the difference between a shared and a private catamaran?
On a shared cruise you join other guests and pay per person, with lunch and drinks included. A private charter is the whole boat for your group at a fixed price; food and drinks are added per person when you book. Shared Blue Safari cruises are confirmed instantly; private charters are confirmed with Blue Safari first.
