Tamarind Falls Full-Day Hike (7 Cascades)
The gorge, not just the lookout: five to six hours down among the waterfalls of Tamarind Falls, with river crossings, pool swims and a proper climb back out.
Tamarind Falls, the "7 Cascades" above Henrietta, is in fact a chain of eleven waterfalls dropping about 300 metres through a forested gorge. The half-day walk shows you five of them from above. This full-day departure goes down into the gorge itself: a steep descent with ropes on the technical sections, then a long passage along the river with crossings on the rocks, stops to swim in the pools below the falls, and lunch by the water before the climb back up to the trailhead.
You reach the falls the half-day walk only looks down on. It is a demanding day for walkers who are confident on wet rock and uneven ground and can keep going for five hours. Groups of two to twelve with a Yanature guide.
