The lagoon here is sheltered by the reef and shallow over sand and seagrass, which is why it suits first-timers: kneel first, stand when the board feels steady, and stay inside the reef line the crew point out. Mornings before 10:30 are usually calmer; the wind tends to pick up in the afternoon.
